EDSP 403/503 - Introduction to Autism: Evident Practices in Teaching and Interventions Semester Hours: Three This course is designed to acquaint students with autism and the criteria involved in assessing appropriate practices in intervention and therapy. Based upon the knowledge and understanding of the spectrum of autism, the student will be able to develop a working base in which to better promote a child’s individual learning profile. The areas of cognition, communication, behavior, and social skill acquisition will be addressed so the student will be able to utilize these in developing a holistic approach in the treatment of autism. Term Offered: Fall, Spring
Prerequisite: EDPS 453/553 Note: Students taking this course for graduate credit must complete all graduate course requirements.
