COMM 223 - Introduction to Mass Media (MOTR SBSC 100)
Term Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
This course examines the nature and influence of mass media on our society. Through discussions, readings, projects and multi-media presentations, the class will analyze newspapers, television, radio, electronic journalism, movies, video games, advertising and public relations. Utilizing critical thinking skills, students will analyze emotional, moral, cognitive, aesthetic and social influences of mass media. This course will satisfy three hours of the Fine Arts general education requirement.
