HUED 523 - Multicultural Counseling Semester Hours: Three This course will emphasize the following: (1) knowledge and research in the area of multicultural counseling, (2) the development of skills in the assessment and treatment of individuals and families from culturally diverse populations, and (3) the expansion of awareness and sensitivity allowing the counselor to recognize lifestyles, behaviors, communication modes, and manifestations of psychological disorder that may be different from their own culture or ethnic background. Prerequisites: HUED 513 , HUED 433/533 , and HUED 403/503 . This course cannot be taken as a directed study or credit for prior learning portfolio. Students seeking counselor licensure may not take this as a web-based course.
