BUSN 311 - Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
Semester Hours: One
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), also known as ENACTUS, is an international, nonprofit student organization that challenges students on over 1400 campuses in the United States and 47 foreign countries to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to business and community projects. The goal is to improve lives and uplift the standard of living in the local and business community. Students plan and implement outreach projects in a hands-on environment unique to the SIFE/ ENACTUS experience. They have an opportunity to practice and improve their communication; creativity, team building, and leadership skills as they work with the community, local businesses and professionals. As a result of membership in this organization, students have an opportunity to interact with top-level business leaders and entrepreneurs as they make executive decisions. They will also be entered into the SIFE/ENACTUS International Computerized Career Network Job Bank only available to SIFE/ENACTUS members. Students from any discipline can take part in and benefit from this class and this organization. Up to three hours of credit may be applied toward upper level electives within the School of Business, with a maximum of 7 hours applied toward total upper division hours.
