COUN 5103 - Foundations of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Semester Hours: THREE This course provides new counselor education students with an in-depth look at the history and philosophy of the counseling profession. Topics of study include the various roles of the counselor, introduction of counseling microskills, advocacy, clinical mental health counselor identity, credentialing, self-care, professional organizations, and professional trends for both clinical mental health counselors and school counselors. Term Offered: Fall, Spring
