COUN 5122 - Counseling Skills & Techniques Semester Hours: TWO This course provides new counselor education students with an introduction to basic counseling techniques and skills. Topics addressed during this course include attending behavior, core conditions of counseling, counseling microskills, and other necessary skills needed in conducting a counseling session. Students will apply these skills during the concurrent lab portion of this course (COUN 5121). Prerequisites for School and School w/CMHC Concentration: COUN 5113, 5123. Prerequisites for CMHC: COUN 5103, 5113. This course cannot be taken as a directed study or credit for prior learning portfolio. Students seeking counselor licensure may not take this as a web-based course. Term Offered: Spring
