SMGT 573 - Sport Public Relations Semester Hours: Three Rather than view public relations as merely one of the four or five “Ps” of marketing, this course focuses on the benefit of regular communication between a sport organization and its key publics, or stakeholders. This course will explore public relations theories such as two-way symmetrical communication and agenda setting as well as practical communication tactics employed by public relations practitioners such as image repair and crisis communication. In addition, this course addresses a variety of communication-related topics including public relations management, image, media relations, and community relations.
