COUN 5393 - School Counseling Internship II
Semester Hours: Three
Students will complete 300 clock hours of supervised counseling experiences. At least 100 hours must be completed in the student’s designated “Minor Emphasis” area (elementary or secondary). Remaining hours may be completed at the designated “Major Emphasis” area or a Clinical Mental Health setting (School Counseling - Licensure students only). All sites must be approved by the Clinical Director of Field Experience. Students will also attend weekly internship classes for an entire semester, either in-person or livestream, with other internship students. Students will critique video recordings of their counseling sessions to enhance their counseling skills and techniques.
Note: CPT form required for F-1 international students. There is a course specific fee charged for this course. This course is limited to 12 students maximum.
Prerequisites(s): Prerequisites for School (Traditional and Licensure Track): COUN 5113 , COUN 5123 , COUN 5133 , COUN 5163 , COUN 5213 , COUN 5223 , COUN 5253 and COUN 5283 .
