MUTC 112 - Music Computer Technology
Term Offered: Fall, Spring
This course is an introductory survey of computing, with emphasis on personal computing and music technology. Students are introduced to an elementary understanding of computers as they impact everyday life and the music field. Topics include computers and their uses, the Internet, computer hardware and architecture, input/output devices, storage concepts, music recording and editing, and music publication. Hands-on instruction includes the Microsoft Office software suite, Garage Band, and Finale. This course satisfies the computer literacy requirement for all baccalaureate degrees for music majors and minors, except the BME.
