PHYS 103 - Introduction to Physical Science (MOTR PHYS 110L) Term Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer This is an introductory course that is designed to introduce concepts within physics, chemistry, earth science, and astronomy. Specific topics include the study of motion through mechanics, energy, thermodynamics, magnetism, electricity, wave theory, atomic structure, chemical reaction, basic geology, tectonic plate, weather systems, and the solar system. This course is intended for non-science majors. A goal of the course is to demonstrate how science impacts our everyday lives. This course may be taken in conjunction with the laboratory component (PHYS 101 ) to fulfill lab credit requirements or independently. Note: Books IncludED Fee applies. Semester Hours: Three
Prerequisite(s): MATH 123 , MATH 133 , MATH 155 , MATH 164 , or consent of instructor.
