EDUC 201 - Professional Growth and Folio Development I Term Offered: Fall, Spring Semester Hours: One This seminar is designed to initiate professional growth and development for the pre-service teacher at all levels. A variety of large group, small group, and individual learning experiences will be explored which focus on contemporary educational issues. Students will be introduced to the Missouri Teacher Standards and begin development of their Professional Development Folio (PDF). All undergraduate degree-seeking students seeking initial teacher certification must register for this course in the second semester of their sophomore year or first semester of enrollment for transfer students with junior standing or above; post-baccalaureate certification-only students and graduate students seeking initial teacher certification must register for this course in their first semester of enrollment. Students are required to complete their Teacher Education Admission Packet in conjunction with EDUC 201 in preparation for their interview for admission into the Teacher Education Program. Note: School of Teacher Education Gateway Course: A grade of B or better is required for this course with the opportunity to repeat the course once to achieve the minimum grade. This course will not be accepted in transfer from another institution and cannot be taken through Directed Study, Credit for Prior Learning, or Credit by Exam. There is a special fee associated with this course.
