The general education program is complemented by specific requirements for each of the six baccalaureate degree programs. The student must complete all requirements for the degree plan selected before graduation. The completion of the general education requirements and the degree requirements comprise a cohesive liberal arts basis, preparing students for study in professional subject disciplines.
The Bachelor of Music Education degree is restricted to students seeking teacher certification in vocal-choral or instrumental music at the K-12 level. Students must meet all requirements for certification before this degree will be conferred, including passing all sections of MoGEA, the professional teaching portfolio, the Missouri Content Assessment required for the area(s) of certification sought, and the MoPTA.

§ For transfer credit to be equated to this course the transfer course must have been completed within seven (7) years prior to initial registration at Missouri Baptist University. Former MBU students who are readmitting into the University must also have completed BCIS 103 , EDUC 373 , or an equivalent course within seven (7) years prior to the first semester of returning registration.
