Introduction
Lindenwood University desires to facilitate the admissions process for graduates of Missouri Baptist University into the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree program at Lindenwood University. Lindenwood University will reserve up to two (2) seats in the MSAT program per academic year for the most highly qualified Missouri Baptist University students who meet or exceed these requirements.
Agreement
A student who completes a baccalaureate degree at Missouri Baptist University, meets the requirements below for admission into the MSAT Program at Lindenwood University, and submits all application material by December 31st of the year before their expected start at Lindenwood University will be considered for a reserved seat.

Lindenwood University MSAT Admissions Criteria
Students must complete the following to be eligible for admission under this agreement:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree
- All bachelor’s degree requirements must be met and the degree conferred prior to the time of entry into the program.
- Completion of all program preprequisites
- All program prerequisite courses must be completed or scheduled to be completed prior to the time of entry into the program.
- Cumulative college GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Prerequisite Coursework:
- Biology - 1 course
- Chemistry - 1 course
- Physics - 1 course
- Anatomy/Physiology I & II - 2 courses
- Exercise Physiology - 1 course
- Psychology - 1 course
- Nutrition - 1 course
- Kinesiology or Biomechanics - 1 course
- Medical Terminology - 1 course
Application Process:
- Create an account in ATCAS (Athletic Training Computerized Application System) and follow all directions to complete the application.
- ATCAS Application Checklist:
- Transcripts
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended will need to be sent to ATCAS.
- If the bachelor’s degree or prerequisite courses have not been completed at the time of application, students will need to submit final verification at a later date.
- References
- ATCAS requires the names and contact information for two references.
- One reference should be associated with the athletic trainer who supervised the required observation hours.
- Personal Statement
- Statement should provide support for one’s ability to perform at a high level in the program.
- Statement should include prior academic and clinical experiences, work experience, accomplishments, academic goals, and career goals.
- Observation Hours
- Documentation of a minimum of 20 observation hours with a certified athletic trainer.
- Observation Hours Document (upload into ATCAS).
- Selected candidates will complete an interview with the athletic training program faculty. Interviews will be scheduled by program faculty after receiving all application materials.
- The application process must be completed before December 31st of the year before the expected start at Lindenwood University.
- Note: Submitting after the December 31st deadline does not exclude applicants from acceptance into the MSAT program. However, they may not be given automatic acceptance per this MOU.
Fulfilling the above requirements is required to be considered a candidate for the MSAT program. In addition, the student must demonstrate professional behaviors when interacting with faculty, staff, students, clients, and patients. These behaviors are essential for success in the graduate program and reflect the capacity to deliver a high standard of healthcare. We consider these behaviors as crucial as traditional academic standards in determining criteria for matriculation.

The Lindenwood University MSAT Admissions Committee will review applicants who meet the above-mentioned requirements. A maximum of two students from Exercise Science or related major satisfying all prerequisites at Missouri Baptist University who meet the above criteria will be automatically accepted into the program. Students who complete the application process after December 31st and students who have met the requirements but are not chosen among the two allotted slots will be reviewed under the standard admissions process established by Lindenwood University. Students selected for admission will begin the Master of Science in Athletic Training program upon completion of their bachelor’s degree.
