BCIS 453 - E-Commerce Term Offered: Spring, Even Years This course will explore the history and development of e-commerce through an understanding of the World Wide Web and the Internet. Students will develop an understanding of the unique marketing strategies of the Internet and examine various models of business to consumer enterprises including the ethics of web-based businesses. Topics include the security for protecting both buyers and seller in an open electronic market place such as authentication, encryption and digital funds transfer. Hardware and software requirements to conduct an e-business are examined such as internet tools: browsers, search engines, e-mails and web server implementations using applets, XML and ASPs.
