BIOL 203C - Biology of Cancer Term Offered: Fall An introduction to cancer biology with emphasis directed toward an understanding of the basic characteristics, processes, and activities of living organisms and how the misregulation of these processes leads to cancer formation. The disease of cancer is becoming increasingly relevant with the aging population of modern society, as cancer is primarily a disease of aging. This course will cover three main units of (1) cancer formation (carcinogenesis), (2) cancer progression, and (3) historic and current cancer treatments. It will also introduce students to primary scientific literature. Satisfies the general education course requirements for biology. Semester Hours: Three
