ENGL 473A - English Internship Term Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer This course aims to offer English majors practical experience at local businesses, non-profit agencies, churches, and other professional organizations. Under the direction of the English internship coordinator, students will work with approved supervisors (employers), fulfilling 150 hours of work in a field related to the discipline of English (technical writing, copywriting, social media, etc.). Course requirements include regular meetings with the internship coordinator, a weekly internship journal, a 10-page reflective analysis, and a final portfolio of internship work. In addition, the experience provider’s assessment of the student will constitute part of the final grade.
Note: English Education majors are exempt from this course but must take another English course within the Literature or Writing Concentration. Semester Hours: Three
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 203 or consent of instructor.
