Students must meet all requirements for certification before this degree will be conferred, including passing the following: 1) all sections of the Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA); 2) the Professional Development Folio (semester prior to student teaching); 3) the Missouri Content Assessment(s) (MoCA) for each area of certification sought; and 4) a passing composite score on their summative evaluation in the Missouri Educator Evaluation System (MEES).

   

   

Professional Requirements


Total: 33 Hours


Students who transfer in a course for EDUC 203  that does not include an equivalent field experience must take EDCL 200 .
Students who transfer in a course for EDRD 423/523  which does not include an equivalent field experience must complete: EDCL 420/520 Field Experience with English Language Learners  

Field and Clinical Experiences


Total: 14 Hours


*Candidates pursuing secondary/middle combined certification must complete EDCL 411/511 Teaching Field Experience II  in a middle school setting.

Major Requirements


Mission Statement: Mathematics plays a key role in understanding the principles of our physical environment and is an important tool in successful utilization and conservation of human, physical, and financial resources. The mission of the Mathematics department is to instill in its students an understanding of the mathematical concepts necessary to be productive members of society, and to provide the mathematics foundation necessary for graduate study in mathematics and careers in mathematics, education, business, finance, science, medicine, and engineering. This mission follows from our Christian worldview which states, in part, that we are to live in harmony with the physical environment God has created for us and utilize its resources intelligently and conservatively.

The student must complete at least 33 hours in Mathematics (including 9 hours of upper division electives), 8 hours in physics, and 3 hours in computer science, including the following courses or their equivalent:
